WOYWW 602

Good morning all from wet and windy Lancashire.

Time for a visit to The Stamping Ground and a good old snoop round a lot of desks from crafters not afraid to bare all for the world to see (I am referring to their workdesks of course).

That said, mine is not a shot of a workdesk - as there is only real life, bona fide work on my desk (the variety you get paid for).  I therefore offer you shots of the quilts I have been finishing, yet another baby blanket I have started (I haven't finished any of them yet, I just keep watching YouTube and think ... oooh  I could do that stitch), and lastly a lonely Christmas card.  I made the topper weeks ago, and have turned it into my third card of the season finished (the other two are winging their way to relatives in Canada).

Tadaa- the quilts

Another crochet blanket work in progress

And the lonely Christmas card ... but it sparkles ...  the ones at the back are last year's leftovers!!

Have a lovely week and I will visit desks today/tomorrow, after work.  I could not leave a comment or see Ali Wade's post last week ... not sure with what went wrong, but I did get a camera/microphone from Amazon for my PC as she advised, so future Zoom Crops will be fun!  Take care, Heather xx

Oooh, does that mean that you’ll look like Britney Spears with your headset on??! ;-D. I love George’s quilt, you’ve done a great job there, it’s so neat. And I did laugh at the fact that you keep on starting blankets cos of discovering new stitches! Which one is your favourite? You’ve probably learned more than me crochet wise, I tend to stick to the same old stitch cos it’s easy and doesn’t require concentration (what little I have these days diminishes very quickly....)

Lovely needle (and hook) arts. It has been forever since I made a quilt, and I know I have at least two that are very close to being finished. I really should make the time and move them to the FINISHED OBJECTS pile. And what a pretty card! Love the shiny branches.

Happy too close to Christmas WOYWW!

Hi Heather. I'm so glad I am not alone in getting things nearly finished, then moving on to the next task without actually finishing! I am still ploughing my way through my unfinished symphonies as challenged by Julia earlier in the year!
Those quilts are gorgeous. Well done.
Take care. God bless.

Hi, Heather!

Your quilts are so very pretty, as is your card! I understand about the work on your desk! Before I retired, I had a sign in my office that read, "If I didn't have to eat for a living, I wouldn't work either!"

I am crocheting an afghan using almost the same pattern as your blanket. I have to undo several rows because somehow I managed to lose a stitch at the end of each row. I guess I am not focusing on my count when I turn and I am going back into the wrong stitch. If I ever finish it, I might post it!:D)

Hi Heather, your quilts are beautiful, as is your Christmas card. I love patchwork Quilts, but I am not so good with sewing. Still waiting on news of Brexit 🙄 Have a great week Angela #5

Gorgeous quilts, Heather, with lovely vibrant fabrics. So nice to see another crocheter on here too - quite a lot of us seem to be doing it at the moment! I go for years not doing any and then get a craze for it again! I've definitely got the bug at the moment. The lone Christmas card is really beautiful. I love the fir branches around the edge and the shading around the central circle. It has a beautiful winter feel about it.

Happy belated WOYWW,

The quilts look fab Heather, I do love handmade bedding for little ones, always so special. The lonely card looks lovely too, as much as we love to be creative there is only so many hours in the day be proud of what you have achieved, it's all awesome. WoywW Hugs Tracey 8xx

Oh well done Heather! the quilts are just gorgeous and will be so loved and used, they really are a perfect gift. I made a quilt and cot bumper for a friend about 35 years ago and the quilt came back for repair a couple of years ago because the ‘baby’ was still using it as a lap quilt! it was a bit ropey, but she declined a new one!! Also a bit impressed that you haven’t flung stuff about and got dramatic about not having made many cards, I sense an opportunity missed!! Well, if youve got a new camera, we should test it whilst your on holiday - a smaller meeting would be worth a try wouldnt it?!
