WOYWW 625

Good morning all

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of lovely ATCs and postcards on my desk visits, that have been swapped over the past week.  I've started packing up my crafty bits ready to decorate next week, so my desk is a tad bare.  Pride of place is an empty wooden box that I think looks very handy, but I've absolutely no idea what to put in it!  Suggestions on a postcard please!!  OK time to join The Stamping Ground and join in the fun!

The box was originally a container for Tassimo pods, but the amount of waste plastic meant we ditched the Tassimo machine.

In the bottom picture the box is set on my glass mat which is just over 12" square - so that gives you an idea of the size of the box.

It really is too nice to not use it for something!! 🤔

A short post from me this week, as nothing much has changed in the last 7 days!  I have my granddaughter sleeping over next Tuesday, so if she wants to craft, you might see an honorary WOYWWer in the desk pic!

Have a lovely week, Heather xx

I would probably decorate it first of all - paint, stencil, stamping or just decorative paper. Then it would probably house my charm collection - yes I have lots. Maybe beads, embellishments or just use each section as a picture frame and decorate them all to make a standing printers tray kind of thing.
Am sure you will get much better ideas - it is early for me.
Have a lovely time with your grandee.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

What a useful box, but yeah the waste in those things is crazy - there was one in the place we stayed when visiting my parent in the USA and OMG - we filled trash cans full every week, it seemed (probably cause we each need two pods to get a decent sized cup of coffee every cup every day LOL!)

I can think of loads of uses but it all hinges on the dimensions. Die cuts? Tiny collage clusters? Stamped and cut images? LOADS of things!

Happy WOYWW

I’m so pleased the coffee machine has gone, I can’t believe the plastic detritus they generate. We think that a good coffee and cafetière can’t be beat! Have fun decorating the box, it’ll be very useful. Have a lovely time with your GD!

I'm with Jan on this one - but the box is certainly a "very useful box". I have lots in my sewing room waiting for a new purpose. I just hate throwing such nice packaging away. xx Jo

That's a great box and it looks well constructed, too. I agree with Neet to either stain it or something before finding a home for it. I've never heard of that brand, but I live across the pond, so it may be one others here are familiar with. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

A lovely box and does look very useful. Would it be big enough for washi tapes? We have a Tassimo machine too but seldom use it now - I cringe every time I have to put the pods in the rubbish. Why don't they make them recyclable? Looking forward to welcoming the new WOYWW-er - possibly the youngest ever? xx zsuzsa #26

I'm thinking, sequins, or other small embellishments for the lovely box. Robyn 29

I agree with all the others about how useful the box is (people at work always save me boxes from deliveries and such like, these days... ) I hope you and your grand daughter have fun next week! Helen#4

Now if it was mine it would be put in a bigger unused box, with a smaller unused box in it, then possibly all three put in an even bigger unused box and then stored in the loft under the misguided belief that I will use it one day!
Have a great week, I hope you have a lovely time with your granddaughter,

You could make a shadow box for the wall by taking the drawer out but it looks perfect for buttons and colour-sorted things of prettiness. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Well done abandoning the plastic pods, Heather. Far too much single use plastic these days. I love the box! I love boxes and bags and always want more, and sometimes don't even end up putting anything in them! Sad, or what? Sorry to be so late getting round this week. Out of routine, busy, then overtired.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Great box! Could you fill it with all your most used supplies? Or maybe with something arranged by colour? I have all my neocolours in a wooden box so something like that would go well in your box. Happy WOYWW! Elle #35 this week
