WOYWW 605

Happy New Year to you all.  I would like to say that in honour of the New Year, I did a spring clean around my desk, but although I had every good intention of doing some cleaning, I waited patiently until the urge had passed, and settled down to some crafting!

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a new journal I had bought - in case I ever felt like starting one.  Helen promptly dared me .... so below is a quick collage of the pages so far.  What I have worked out is, if I prepare 7 backgrounds, and stamp the dates on each page, I will do something each day.  It may not be much, but it won't be left blank!

Sunday's page refers to "The Jan Blan begins".  This indeed is going to be a blanket and a half!  Inspired by LLJ and started in the month of January (hence the name on both counts)... you could be forgiven for thinking you were looking at LLJ's blog ... as I have set to on a giant rainbow blanket!  I am still on with the baby blankets, but I had lots of colourful yarn calling out to me!  It is perched on my side desk, so I can see it while I am working- the bright colours certainly cheer up my craft room.  Ignore the rest of the desk - such a mess, but I will tidy it soon, as I cannot stand the mess much longer!  The journal is in the middle of the desk, and there are some new sew in labels for my quilts/sewing projects (if I make anymore/anything else).

If you want to join in, and visit some far tidier desks than mine, just head on over to The Stamping Ground where our hostess with the mostess, Julia,  awaits you.

Have a lovely week, Heather xx

LOL! I was almost fooled into thinking it was LLJs but not quite - no cross-stitch, you see? And I did not have your willpower, to wait for the urge to tidy to pass. I did clean up my area because I am determined not to live in chaos in 2021. Six days in and so far so good, at least in my craft room. We will see if the resolve holds for not only this room but all the rooms, and not just this day bit ALL the days. I am hopful... I also see you have jumped into journaling. Well done! Can't wait to see more (although an 8 page share is pretty amazing already!)

Happy WOYWW 2021!

I am so impressed with the Jan Blan! Well done you on so much being completed since our last Zoom meeting. That and journalling puts me to shame as I have not achieved much recently. A couple of cards but forgot to scan them and a journal page which gets blogged - reminds me I have one to do for tomorrow,
Well, if you look at my blog you will see I am making a start at cleaning out my craft room. It might be ready for your actual visit in summer. Not promising anything but I realised that the inches of dust did not sit well with a visit from you. Something had to be done, and you might find it in a state of chaos or it could be wonderful. Mind you if I keep having to buy carts and things to fill up the floorspace we won't both fit in and we might have to craft elsewhere and wheel stuff in - see, I knew I needed more than one trolley.
Happy New Year to you, stay safe and well,
Hugs, Neet 17 xx

I enjoy doing backgrounds as well, so I thought why not just do a background journal? We always feel compelled to finish pages - I do, anyway - sometimes just doing backgrounds feels so liberating - I guess geli prints are a bit like that! Happy journalling - who was Brett? - I hope not a doggie or a kittie - not that it being a person would be any better, of course. I'm hoping it's just a fictitious character? Loving the Jan Blan - and the naming of it! Stay safe and Happy New Year! xx zsuzsa #26

Hi Heather! Messy desks are the best! Clean ones (like mine was this week) can be a bit boring...Love the start to your journal! You can certainly add things like trackers, or calendars to it. I'm finding that if I have to track something, I'm more likely to do it! I love the goodbye 2020 page - I think that sums up the whole year! Thanks for your earlier visit, have a great week! I must say I did a double take, Heather, thinking I was indeed on LLJ's blog when I saw that blanket! Haha! Love all your pages, and the "JanBlan" is a fantastic name for the blanket! Brilliant. Thank you for your visit and all your kind remarks. My new wool has arrived and I've started using it - it's great. From what you said about your juicer, I'm assuming it's one that separates the juice from the pulp? They are notoriously difficult to clean and as a result, usually end up at the back of a cupboard not being used at all, quite apart from the machine removing most of the good stuff from what you actually end up drinking! My blender is so easy to clean - just a quick rinse, and then run it with some warm soapy water, rinse again and dry. Job done.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Sorry I’m so lateHeather. First things first...you’ve changed your bio photo. Probably ages ago!! airs such a nice pic of you. The Jan Blan made me laugh, great page and great idea on Jan’s go to blanket. It looks so cheerful. Interesting approach to the journal pages, makes perfect sense actually, and the first day back at work page...oh yeah. Lovely set of backgrounds!

Love the idea of pre-dating those pages! You're doing great. How about giving us a gander each week... will help keep you on track ;-) Great Jan Blan. I have 2 baby afghan's to finish then my granddaughter's. I also have hat/ scarf sets to get done by mid November. Lots of crocheting in my evenings.
