WOYWW 528

Time for a Wednesday blog hop courtesy of Julia and The Stamping Ground- if you fancy taking a peek at desks around the world, then click this link WOYWW and join in, we are a very friendly bunch.

I've not done much card making, but I did use up some of the bits in my UFO box.  Main desk has some of the results, plus some cork leaves and snowflakes that one of my daughter's bought for me.  I thought the blue/green tree picture might be suitable for a sympathy card.

Side desk has three more stamp albums.  I had good fun making the covers - these will be for general small stamp sets.  At the back of the desk is my new mini cutter.  I did previously buy a cheap guillotine, but it refused to cut straight, so that will end up in the scrap metal at the recycling centre.

That's all from me.  Hope you are all having as lovely weather as we are - just want it to stick around for a few weeks until we go on holiday.

Have a lovely week and please leave a comment so I know you stopped by.  I'll be visiting desks tomorrow, as we have visitors this evening.  Hugs, Heather xx

Lots of lovely things going on here - I love the cork leaves. I bought a cheap guillotine and it never worked properly - I threw mine away too - funny, but I would never have thought there would be such a difference in quality between them. Hope the weather stays nice for you, although I could do with a little cooler - I get more done when it's not so hot!
Have a great week,

Lots going on at your desk today, you're right, the trees would make a good sympathy card for sure. Some great new stash from your gal there, have fun!

I can tell you went to town with those folder covers! How annoying to have a cutter that doesn't cut straight - I'm sure the new one will work much better - looks like the business! Sometimes we just have to spend a little more on something that works but worth it in the long run! Happy Wednesday! zsuzsa #23

Time for a new cutter. Not much use for one that doesn't cut straight. How frustrating! Great photo of your desk! Have a great week. Dorlene #29

I am not a lover of hot weather, it's difficult to do anything when you feel too hot but today it's been nice as there has been a little breeze too. I can understand though that you want it to last for your hols. Great desk photos too. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x13x

Hi Heather, yes, totally agree, a great sympathy card, especially with a length of ribbon tied around the 'join' of the green ink & white card. Doing a great job with the stamp storage. Hope the new cutter works well for you. Eyes have cleared enough to be able to type now, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #16 X

Hi Heather, yep I can totally see that tree line becoming a sympathy card as it is so serene color wise :) Cork leaves sound interesting. :) ~Stacy #30

I'm with you on the idea of a sympathy card Heather. Funnily enough I have the exact same Circa design stamp in my stash. Great stamp album covers. Hope the weather holds for your holidays too. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

No idea what happened to my comment two days ago - maybe I clicked the wrong button - wouldn't be the first time.
The card with 'trees' reminds me of some I have made a short while ago and I left the sentiment off and then found I could use them for lots of things. Men's cards came instantly to mind, Good Luck, Congrats etc etc - I just think it is a great and easy card to make which is useful for so many things.
Well, it looks as if you have been busy with your cards despite what you say. Such a wide variety there too and I look forward to seeing the cork leaves in use.
I had to smile at the guillotine that didn't cut straight - I have bought endless guillotines and paper cutters over the years, not because they didn't cut straight but because I was told b was better than a and c was better than either etc. Wait until you see my favourite - expensive (a gift) but wonderful.
Have a great holiday, see you some time.
Hugs, Neet xxx

Hi Heather, You've been busy with your fab folders and cards.

Yes that card would be fine for a sympathy card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Happy WOYWW.

You really are very very organised Heather. I too had a cutter that did not cut straight one with a running blade, very annoying. The slicing blade is so much better for me, hope it works better for you. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey #8 xx

Lovely desk this week, Heather - I love the album covers! I love the leaves too, and your beautiful card. Thank you for your great comment, and I'm so glad you liked my watercolour doodles! Hope you got a chance to watch the videos. The birds seem to be the hot favourite generally, and I must say they are creeping up my list of favourites too! Really sorry you've already christened your new paper cutter with blood... Horrible, isn't it! The other day I put my hand in water by mistake and the dressing on my finger got all wet. I left it alone to dry and then it fell off, and my finger was all white and manky! I decided to leave it to dry out, and although the nail is still far from fully grown back, the finger is so much less sensitive than it was that I decided to leave off the dressing permanently, and it's been fine since! Such a relief not to have to keep putting on a rubber glove and being careful with it! I'm hoping to hear from the GP this week about my headache meds. Since I spoke to the pharmacist I've only had a couple of headache and they were very mild, so perhaps I'm about to go into another headache-free period for a few weeks! That would be nice...

Nice creative desk today! I need to make a bunch of cards to have on hand, something I keep telling myself, but never get around doing! Your new guillotine looks great!
Sorry I'm so late this week! Thank you for your earlier visit, Lindart #31
