WOYWW 576

Good morning all,

Things look much brighter this week.  I have seen my daughters, my grandchildren, and one of my brothers.

Nothing much to report on my desk this morning.  It is Mr M's birthday tomorrow - and boy, is he having a mid life crisis.  As usual I asked what he wanted for his birthday.  To my amazement he passed me his tablet, with a picture of ... an electric guitar!  He'll be growing his hair long and wanting a motorbike next!  So he is now the proud owner of a green electric guitar.  Hence my desk shows his birthday card - where I half followed a YouTube video, and I used distress Oxides on the crafting mat, I stencilled some brick pattern on the sides and some musical notes, I stamped the guitars and the sentiment and heat embossed them, and added some white outline to Husband.  Next to them are a few of the bird pics I did weeks ago, I stamped and heat embossed them ready to layer up into cards.

The reason I am sharing this on my blog - to follow my leader on WOYWW.  Click the link if you want to see far more interesting desks than mine.

Have a lovely week, Heather xx

Well, that's a great birthday prezzy for your husband and the card is perfect to go with it as well! It could be worse, I'd be worried if the crisis involved skinny jeans or a man bun..... How lovely you met your family, that must have filled you with joy - I'm desperate to see our older son but he's in Reading and Wales is still in lockdown...sigh.

Does he play then, or is this a whole new thing? I can think of worse that he might have wanted, although you’ll laugh at this for years now...I think lockdown will be the excuse for millions of mid life crises! So nice isn’t it at last, to be able to see our lovelies, it’s quite bolstered me to be able to invite my SIL to sit in my garden for a cuppa. Brilliiant card for DH, I love the addition of the white pen, I keep one on my desk but never remember to use it. Mind you...prizes for finding it! Glad you’ve decided to make the birds into cards, they are lovely, very cheery!

Lovely you have been able to see some family - makes it all a bit easier. The electric guitar does sound a bit random - but why not? I have actually thinking about learning to ride a bike - thinking is as far as its got though.
Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, hugs Cindyxx #12

Lol at your hubby! Haha! Hope he had a really great birthday and enjoys being a rock star with his new guitar. Love the cards you've made. I'm really glad you have managed to see your family - things do look as if they are slowly returning to normal now as the rules are relaxed. Thank you for your visit - that was very interesting to hear that you used to work for the company that made Really Useful Boxes! I have a lot of them, mostly in the studio but also in my bathroom, and now, of course, in the pantry. It sounds as if your hubby has done a reasonable job creating a pantry for you from that fridge space, and I hope the addition of new baskets makes it easier to use. I'm so glad you like my new maxi dress! I am very pleased with it. Also my knitting - I am making very good progress on the green cardigan but each row takes me over half an hour because there are sooo many stitches! Have fun with your new potting shed when it arrives.

Happy WOYWW,

Can he play the guitar? Love the card you made him, especially the word which you outlined in white - very effective, but the bird cards are my favourites - absolutely fabulous. Carry on doing them.
Sorry I am so late, had a bad day yesterday and today is not much better as yet. But did have two and a bit days of no pain before, hence the crafting.
Must have been lovely to see family after so long in lockdown, I have two more weeks to go and then ... well I guess I will still stay in apart from the dreaded hospital visits.
Hugs, Neet 6 stay safe and well xx

I love the card you made your husband and had to laugh at your surprise at what he wanted. I adore your bird cards, and if you don't mind, I am hoping to try and replicate something a little similar for one of my index cards this week. Happy Belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#34)
