Not only am I late, but very little crafting has taken place. One card, pfft, not even worthy of a mention really. Here it is, in all its glory!
I fussy cut the stamps, as the die was too big. I made a harlequin stencil on the Scan & Cut (oooh that counts as crafting!!) because it was raining and I didn't fancy going to the craft shop.
I mentioned to Mr M that I wanted to take up sewing again, and as it will be my birthday on Monday, he bought me a nice present! I haven't unpacked it yet, as I have not cleared enough space for it! My plan - quite ambitious for me - is to make 3 quilts for my grandchildren for Christmas. I've got as far as buying The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Quilting, and this weekend I'll start reading! Then next week I'll be asking questions no doubt of LLJ, Wipso and Twiglet!
I had a few special visitors on Monday. First time I had seen them since last year. It was lovely to meet my life savers, who along with Mr M are my heroes!
That's all from me, I'll be desk hopping as soon as I've made a cup of coffee! Have a lovely week, Heather x

Hi Heather. That's a lovely card - well done on all the fussy cutting! It frustrates me, I confess, when a die and stamp are meant to go together, and the die leaves a white edge round the flower or whatever. I sit and go "grrrrr!". Great shot of you with your special team!
Have a wonderful birthday next week. Enjoy the present from Mr M.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Heather - love the card, what is wrong with you, it is lovely!
Happy Birthday for next week - enjoy the sewing machine ... and quilting.
Now spill the beans as to why this team are with you on the anniversary of ??? I know what you have so am guessing they got you to hospital etc etc. I am so nosey, sorry.
On Monday I am stopping Warfarin and changing over to the newer drug - at last!!! Bad back and swollen legs are reason for a quick post this week - ordered bed rest for legs and Chinese doctor wanted to do 'cupping' for back but I refused. Acupuncture is fine but don't fancy cupping.
We should swap email addies.
Hugs, Neet 14 xx
What a lovely card, and oooh, what a fab birthday gift! Like Neet, I'm curious about your life-savers... but unlike Neet I daren't change from warfarin - I don't trust the other drug, and I SO don't want another stroke!
Thanks for the visit :) Claire, no. 1
Happy Birthday for Monday and enjoy the machine.. I wouldn'thave anywhere to put one.. not the sort of thing you can do from the floor! the card is fabulous. Great pic of you and your team! helen #4
How wonderful to meet up with the team again - it must be just as lovely for them to see that you're doing so well as it is for you to thank them! I take my hat off to all medical professionals, they do a tough job.
Lovely card btw, I have absolutely no idea what a harlequin stencil is however :-D And wow, what a great present, you'll have so much fun sewing the quilts. I can thoroughly recommend Youtube tutorials for simple bindings and even quilt as you go.

What a great present! Three quilts by Christmas is very ambitious! But I'm sure you can do it. How nice to visited by the people who saved you (from what I don't know, but glad you are here!), they must be thrilled to see you so well! Lovely card, too! Thanks for your visit, and have a great week! Lindart #29
How exciting - a new sewing machine! Have fun with that, and don't forget to show us pics of the quilts as you make them! I love pics of oneself with the medical team - I've got such a lovely one with all the chemo nurses just after I finished my treatment. Everyone at the hospital has always cared for me so well! Your card is absolutely lovely. Fussy cutting is quite fun, I think. Thank you for your lovely comment. I am hoping that this time my surgeon will agree to leave the hernia well alone and hope for the best because at the moment I can't face the idea of further surgery. My new support pants arrived a couple of days ago, and just like last year, they don't fit, which had me spitting tacks. The rep is furious about it and pulling out all the stops to get new ones made asap as the hernia is pretty big and really needs proper support. One thing after another...
Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Heather, I love that the text is peeking through on the petals of the blooms on your card and that is so neat that you had a chance to meet up with them all :) what a great photo. ~Stacy #32

Well, that's quite ambitious of you LOL, three quilts by Christmas - but you can always say you meant next Christmas! I got my machine from hubby for one of my birthdays as well and when I told him it was for sewing paper, he face palmed! But I have used it at least twice to repair my son's school trousers so yay me! That's such a good photo of you and your lifesavers - I can imagine it being used in an NHS brochure. I know you must be eternally grateful to them - they are very special people indeed doing a very important job. Everything in comparison seems insignificant. Your card looks lovely - I like the little gems in the middle of the flowers - they add a touch of magic! Thanks for your visit earlier. Hope you have a good weekend xx zsuzsa #17
And of course Happy Birthday for Monday!
