WOYWW 474

Hello everyone, apologies for being AWOL last week.  I lost track of the days amidst all this lovely weather and a few days off work.  Now time for another tour of workdesks courtesy of WOYWW and Julia, queen of the deskers.  Hop over to The Stamping Ground if you'd like to take part.

My desks this week have seen a little action in between a family barbeque and gardening.  Mainly some birthday cards my daughter requested for her son for a never ending stream of birthday parties he gets invited to.  The joys of his first year at school.

And a close up.  Had fun with my promarkers again, but I've realised I don't have the right colour matches for a lot of shading.  Hence the Lego ninjas are 'flat' ... however I'm sure the 5 year old recipients won't complain.  The cowboy and pirate just need assembling, then all ready for delivery on Friday.

My side desk has some scrapbooking elements sorted out ready for Saturday when Mr M is off out for the day with our diving club.  There are also the two initial samples for the boys cards, and a folder containing all the free stamps received from my stamping magazine.  I must get my stamp storage sorted... and my die storage... and my embossing folders storage ... maybe one day!

That's all for me this week.  I'll be round to visit desks when I get home from work.  Have a lovely week, and hope you are all having weather as lovely as we are getting in sunny Lancashire! Please leave a comnent if you stop by, so I can make sure I stop by your desk!  Take care, Heather x

Morning Heather, what a lovely crop of children's cards, I always struggle with boys cards but you have done brilliantly.
Ah storage for stamps and dies and, and, and.... never ending battle to find the right solution that can be added to endlessly as the stock increases.
Bless you

I think your cards are wonderful, Heather. I am impressed with the shading you created. For some reason, I thought that just entailed coloring a bit heavier. See what little I know about those markers? Now I see you need an entirely different pen. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Yeah, but sorting storage isn’t as exciting as making things! Love all the cards, your colouring is wonderful. Had almost forgotten the scourge of a birthday party every weekend! Still, Saturday to yourself to scrap will be nice...I will be attempting the same. Am in a Chinese Whispers challenge from Inpored bymemories on Facebook and the deadline is Monday, and the chances of getting to it this week are so slim, it’s making me panic!!
What’s in the little tiny RUB boxes on top of the stamp platform thingy then? I might need to get some of the little boxes if I know what they can do!!!

Morning Heather. Those cards are great - well done. Who wants to be sorting when they could be crafting?? Mind you... having said that, I reckon my desk is going to need a mammoth sort soon, or I shall be crafting like Helen - on the floor! Not a pretty thought.
take care. God bless.

Hi Heather, great kiddies cards! I too often struggle with the Promarker blending, I feel like they don't have enough pale colours. Even their 'Pale' ones, are too dark, imo.Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #2 XxX

I'm so glad my son has grown out of those parties! They were fun at first, but there were just way too many of them! Your cards look wonderful and very child-friendly - I'm sure they won't complain about the shading being too flat LOL! But it's a good excuse to buy more markers! Enjoy the rest of the week, Heather! zsuzsa #26

HI Heather, one thing you could try with the coloring is if you have some colored pencils you can add shading over the tops of markers pretty easy that way. ( that's what I do ) with big spaces its nice to get that quick coverage with a marker and then go back over with pencils for detailing and or a white gel pen for some highlights.
Just a thought, ~Stacy #36

Hi Heather! I'll bet your grandson shares those birthday cards with pride. Wait for Valentine's Day! LOL I hear you on the organizing. I still need to get a flip-style storage for my dies. I don't like the keepers I have them in now. Maybe my reword for meeting my writing deadlines :-)
Time is an excellent reward. Creative Blessings! Kelly #29

Oh Heather, I am suffering at the moment with the smoke from Winter Hill. Want it to rain for so many reasons, mainly for the firefighters and the flora and fauna and everything likely to be affected. Hope you are ok where you are.
~Love the cards, absolutely delightful and I honestly don't think they need any shading at all, they are truly delightful.
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me, Neet 6 xx
