WOYWW 472

Good morning all.  Time for a peek around everyone's desk courtesy of Julia and The Stamping Ground.  Thank you all for the comments last week.  Mr M is indeed my hero, and I have nominated him for a British Heart Foundation award, and they have replied to say he will be receiving one!

On to my desk ... I made a few cards this week, mainly to practise colouring with Promarkers.  I will get better!  I also watched a YouTube on calligraphy, so of course I wanted to try that too.  Again, practise will improve my poor attempt.  The little glass pot is some cute butterfly pins for my notice board!

Short and sweet post from me this time.  Have a lovely week, Heather.  I will do my visiting when I get home from work. Xx

Heather, if my calligraphy skills were even 1/100th that good, I'd be jumping for joy. And personally, I think your coloring skills are great, too. I say that because you have shading and all on those dresses. Very impressive. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Morning Heather.. Well done Mr M.. a well deserved award.
A beautiful image on those handmade cards, perfect size with a dash of colour. Looks like your doing a grand job with your lettering, I did O' Level Calligraphy at College and we were taught with a nib pen and ink. It's so much easier with a good fountain pen, you will soon be doing it without even realising once you have trained your brain.
Happy WOYWW & have fun with the pen and ink.

I also wanted to get into calligraphy, but never did. I get distracted so easily! Lovely that you nominated your hubby! He does deserve an award for saving your life - though the best award is having you in his life! Have a lovely week - enjoy your calligraphy. zsuzsa #26

Morning Heather. Lovely cards there on your desk today - and I don't see anything wrong with your calligraphy efforts, either. Well done you!
Take care. God bless.

Hi Heather, I too need to practice more with my Promarkers. I think I try and rush too much, to be honest. Love your projects though. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

Congratulations to Mr for his award :)
I used to love writing with calligraphy pens.. but found the style rigid.. so I stopped copying and enjoyed my own fluid writing. I really need to pull my pens out again!

Calligraphy is looking good and as for the promarkers colouring it doesn't look as if you need practice. Thanks for sharing today - Hazel, WOYWW 472 #17 xx

YOu keep a tidy desk this week missus! I’m with Elizabeth, if I could get calligraphy sorted like that, it would pop on most everything I make! Practice makes perfect but I do believe you start with an aptitude advantage!

Hi Heather, I took a calligraphy class at a local community college and one thing they suggested was to tilt the paper so, if you have like a big board ( like a clip board larger than the paper you are writing on) you could you know lean that board on the edge of the table to get it at an angle and maybe try that? ( it may be easier than trying to do it with the paper flat on a surface. just a thought and yep, tons of practice :) ~Stacy #34

Hi Heather, your calligraphy is looking very promising, I've had a tiny go at that and it's definitely not as easy as those tutorials make it look is it?! :o) Same thing with colouring with markers - I get a bit frustrated with it, but you've done a brilliant job and it is a great way to add a dash of colour to stamped images isn't it? Hi Heather, I'm just squeezing in a visit by the skin of my teeth! I tried to leave a comment a few days ago but a little circle kept going round and round and then told me the page had timed out - I've only just remembered to come back! I am loving your calligraphy and it's certainly not a poor attempt - you obviously have a talent for it,and it will be a wonderful addition to cards and tags. I found it incredibly difficult when I tried it many years ago, so I'm well impressed! Congratulations to Mr M for the award -very well deserved.
