WOYWW 568

Good morning all,

No excuse for missing last week, other than I got my days completely muddled up!  I hope everyone is staying safe and well, and best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those affected by Covid-19.

I have done some crafting - but not much.  Lack of space, although I realised if I tidied up my main desk, I would actually have a decent amount of worktop space.  So ... I thought maybe having all my stamps and dies in baskets is not such a good idea!  Exhibit A your honour:

I have two ways of storing dies and two ways of storing stamps (3 if you include my minimal wood stamp collection, which are in a box).  It's handy to grab what I need, just takes up a lot of space.

I have A4 plastic wallets in a large plastic box for large stamp sets, and A5 plastic wallets in smaller plastic boxes for dies, as well as the MDF tray storage for dies.

You can see the dies I have not yet put away on it, just to the right.  Also sneaking in on the pic is my new pink tape gun.  I gave in and treated myself.

My other stamps are in folders, right above my desk.  I had great fun doing all the covers.

I am tempted to put all my clear stamps in folders and get them all off  the desk.  I have even started an index - as I can never find the sentiment I know I have ... more of that next week.

The folder on the far right is labelled Die Cuts and is where I keep any extra die cuts, ready to colour in or add to a card or a layout.  If my mojo has deserted me, I can always cut out and colour in, whilst awaiting inspiration!

I think I like the organizing just as much as I like the crafting!   Am I alone in that, or does everyone get some pleasure out of organising?

Anyway on to the desk shots, which is why we are all here at WOYWW

Main desk is a mess.  No other words for it.  I did dump a lot of stuff on the floor so I could crack on with my daughter's  wedding invitation samples (fingers crossed it still goes ahead).  I love the little white die cut leaf - I received it in the last ATC exchange but don't know who from.  If anyone knows what the die is called, please let me know, as I think it is perfect for the invites!

Nic has now decided on a rose gold and dusky pink boho theme, so I'll order some more supplies before I make the next samples.  I'm having fun though, so can't complain.

Have a lovely week, stay safe and well, and keep crafting.  Please leave a comment so I know you stopped by, Heather xx

WOYWW 566

Good morning all.  Well if the days used to pass quickly before lockdown, they are absolutely racing by now!  Another Wednesday is here and time for a blog hop around the world courtesy of Julia and WOYWW.

I'm still getting used to one desk being full of work stuff, leaving me only one desk to craft on, but it hasn't stopped me.  Inspired by all your lovely comments, and the general giggling at my painting misdemeanors, I dug out a pad of watercolour card, some watercolour sticks, and some paintbrushes from my grandchildren's art box.  I watched another you tube video, and figured even I couldn't go wrong with this one.  And voila, some more card toppers.  Still on display on my desk, to make into cards.  To the left of the cards is a necklace I made.  As I was searching for the watercolour card, I found my jewellery making stuff, and was slightly distracted!

The left hand top card went slightly wrong when I smudged the doodling, but I love the left hand bottom one- that was the you tube video I watched.  I then used Brusho to colour some card pale yellow, and did another 4.  I prefer the white card now that I'm looking at them - but you don't know until you experiment, right ladies?

Have a lovely Easter weekend.  My plan is to stay in the garden, either doing a bit of gardening, or relaxing and watching Mr M doing a bit of gardening!  If I'm feeling particularly energetic I might spruce up the summerhouse, since we are likely to be on lockdown for a while.  Stay safe, Heather xx

WOYWW 565 - Better late than never!

Oh dearie me.  I thought working from home would make me more organised.  How wrong can I be.  I've just worked out that in the two weeks I have been doing it, I have racked up 2 full days extra at work ... which has left me less free time to craft!  Plus spending all day in my craft room / temporary office means I don't really want to be in there in the evening or weekend.

But, being the trooper I am, and in order that I can flash my desk with the rest of you, courtesy of the lovely Julia and WOYWW, I decided to copy a you tube video about small watercolour prints for card toppers.  Oh my, the lady made it look soooooo easy!  Oh my, she was clearly a professional artist!  Firstly (in my defence) I had the wrong paper, the wrong paints and the wrong brushes.  Apart from that the rest of my equipment was fine (little jar for the water) lol.  I had pearlescent paints - "should have gone to Specsavers" springs to mind!  So without further ado ...

I didn't have any fine brushes for the stems, and by the time I realised I had some paint pens, (see the thin stem in bottom right hand pic), it was too late - the damage was done.  So I used them to play about and see how they looked with extra doodles, as the professional artist had done.

There endeth my crafty session for the week!  I have been out of the house once in the last 8 days, for an early evening stroll with Mr M.  Rush hour - without any traffic, it felt really weird!  I hope you are all keeping well, and your families too.  I'll be visiting after we have dined!!  Have a lovely week, and stay safe and well, Heather xx
