WOYWW 482

Good morning all.  Time for another tour of desks courtesy of head desker Julia and WOYWW.  I spent part of my weekend in Keswick catching up with some friends.  Whilst we were there can you guess where we visited - the clues are on my desk.  Mr M felt the urge to treat me - who am I to spoil his fun!

Yes - the Pencil Museum!

On my other desk I've been finishing off my die storage with my new label printer.  I'm quite happy with the end result, and even emptied my UFO box to put the little wallets in.  Just need to find another UFO box now.

I also have one of the MDF die storage units with 10 A4 trays.  I'm using that for all my nesting shapes, that should be finished next week.

I'm thinking of doing something similar for stamp storage, but maybe using A4 wallets instead.  I think the zip top ones are better than the popper fastening ones. Hmm, watch this space!

Crafting is planned for this weekend, a special birthday card for my youngest daughter who will be 30 when we are in Canada, so need to make a start on it this week, or I'll never get it done.  Still waiting on inspiration!  Plus brother and sister cards for October, which are needed as soon as we get back home.

Short and sweet post this week - apart from a question about the Crop - any recommended hotels nearby?  Mr M and I still not sure if we are staying over or driving back.

Please leave a comment so I know you stopped by.  Have a lovely week Heather x

WOYWW 481

Good morning all.  Sorry I missed last week.  I took a few days off work to enjoy family time, and the week just ran away with me.  I'm sure you will all forgive me when you see what distracted me ... who could resist spending time with these three?  My grandaughter was delighted to be with her cousins! She laughed all day.

Anyway I'm back this week for WOYWW.   Head on over to The Stamping Ground if you want to join in.  On to my desk this week, I read Shaz's blog on triple stamped cards and gave it a bash for the first time (thanks for the tutorial Shaz).  Fairly happy with the results, but could do with a bit of bling, so I'm just thinking about what to add.  Plus woohoo, first Christmas cards made (almost).

I also got the ink Dusters back out and Lavinia Stamps.  The eagle eyed amongst you may notice one of the dragon flies is upside down .... but it adds character to the card! Just needs a sentiment adding.

I also invested in a label maker after Tracey gave glowing reports on it.  Mr M has asked to use it for his workshop labels, so an investment for both of us!  The company also had a half price sale on some crafting items, so I bought some gold and silver glitter markers and some butterfly stamps.

Last on my desk is a new box to keep my calligraphy pens in.  Just needs decorating.

Now on to my other desk and my lovely 'find'.  At the back of the desk you can  see a cardboard tube ...

A few years ago, on one of our diving trips to Egypt, we got bought a few papyrus art pieces.  There were some far nicer pieces, but having spent most of our money on diving trips, we didn't have the funds available.  So we purchased our few smaller pieces ...

The shopkeeper rolled them up and put them in a cardboard tube for us.  They have been there ever since until this weekend, when I took the papyrus out of the tube, and noticed there was something else in there too.  Imagine my surprise to find this ... it's absolutely beautiful.  The photo doesn't really do it justice! The smaller pieces are stamped/printed and coloured in.  This piece is a painting.

WOYWW 479

Hello all. My goodness, I blinked, and another week had passed by.  Busy times!  Time for a weekly peek at work desks across the world courtesy of Julia and WOYWW.

Mine has once again not seen much action.  It was my eldest daughter's birthday on Saturday, so a trip over the Pennines was called for.  I forgot to take a photo of the card I made her, such was my excitement at going to visit her and her family.  My desk as it was this morning.

Not a great deal on it. A card for a friend and some glue. Oh and a little pink tea cup from when my grandsons stayed over and the youngest one made me a cup of tea! I bought the teaset for my grandaughter, but the teapot makes a pouring sound, and 3 year old George loves it!

The rest of the week has been spent in the garden.  Mr M had decided to convert our garage - which has not had a car parked in it since we moved in - into a workshop and gym.  Workshop for him, gym for me.  So he has been busy with his tool kit again, knocking out one wall for patio doors for my gym, and building a dividing wall as I don't want his dusty tools in my shiny new gym.  Half way there in a week!  But ... oooh me thinks this lovely new room overlooking the garden would make a lovely craft room.  But then again, he did spend all that time last year putting in my new desk, worktop and cupboards in my current craft room!  Gym or craft room?  Watch this space!  View from my current craftroom, you can just see the new patio doors!  Ignore the half bare embankment we are still deciding what trees and shrubs to plant!

Thanks for stopping by.  Please do leave a comment so I know you stopped by.  Heather xx

WOYWW 478

The wanderer has returned to WOYWW!  Not really a wanderer, just not had the energy to do anything much apart from work and sleep. A poor excuse I know!  I think the hot weather is to blame, it pretty much wiped me out, but I'm not really complaining, it's marvellous!!

Time to show and tell what I've been up to.  The bit of time I have spent in my Craft room has been sorting out my die storage.  More about that here and a pic to illustrate I did it (at last).

Now on to my desk, I did take a pic last weekend after I had been shopping. Christmas in July at my Craft shop, and free goodies ... so a pic of my freebies

However not much crafting action, apart from finishing some birthday cards and a bit of work on my travel scrap book, and so unlike me to leave it messy, but here was my desk this morning

That's all from me for this week.  Short and sweet.  Have a lovely week! Heather x
