WOYWW 457

Hello to everyone!  Another week has passed by and time to show and tell for WOYWW courtesy of our lovely leader Julia.

Highlight of the weekend was the Leigh Papercraft show, where I met our lovely Neet, who was demo-ing.  I had realised Neet might not recognise me without my big hat and sunglasses, so I did remember to wear my WOYWW badge, as it wasn't quite the weather for sunglasses.  And yes, she is a lovely babe. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you at the Crop.

I might have spent a bit more at the show than I intended, but they were essentials, honestly!  The majority was at Sweet Poppy ... things were just calling to me. And next stop Inkylicious, as well as a couple of stamps I bought an MDF stand for my Ink Dusters.  I had intended to buy my first Distress Oxides but ran out of money.  I don't take my debit card for a very good reason - I know what I'm like!

Next photo is my desk on Monday evening, showing off the lighting on the desk, and the partially assembled holder for my Ink Dusters.  I covered each piece in black gesso, and also embossed a piece of black card for each end, and used gilding wax to fancy it up.  I then tried to assemble all the parts ...

... Sadly I broke the top handle trying to push it through the slot. When I say push, I was actually bashing it through, and split it.  Hence a temporary repair job with glitter washi tape,  until I work out a permanent fix.  I must learn not to be so heavy handed.  I am quite pleased at my first real attempt at using gilding wax (Thank you Zsuzsa for the inspiration).

Mr M has ordered me a craft bag to take to the Lavinia Stamps workshop on Saturday, so am looking forward to receiving that when I get home from work later today.

Thanks for stopping by, and please do leave a message.  I love to read them.  Heather x

Hi Heather, I know exactly what you mean about shows and debit cards. I always take a certain amount of cash and leave mine at home too lol. Will you be at the show in Port Sunlight in May? There are usually a few WOYWWers there. Nice use of gilding wax on that stand, the washi tape fits in well with it. Have a good week. Sarah #10

What a shame about the breakage, especially when you had done such a terrific job of decorating the stand. Hope you get it fixed - strong glue any good? (I have lots if you want something)
Lovely to see you and glad you managed to spend up.
See you in September - check with Sis asap.
Hugs, Neet xx 6 or thereabouts xxx

Morning Heather. So glad you got to Leigh 0 sorry I couldn't meet up with you there - too much going on here, I'm afraid. But isn't Neet a gorgeous babe!! She's such fun. That stand will look great - love the embossed and waxed front.
Take care. God bless.

Happy WOYWW. You bought some lovely stash at the show. I used to make the mistake of taking my credit card with me, and now have a lot of paying off to do! I don't go to shows now (they are all too far away), which is probably a good thing - although I do miss watching the demo's. Ali x #26

OOh Heather, what lovely new stuff..those stencils are just lovely! Well done on the repair...I wonder if it will now stay like that, it does look quite glam! So glad to see you over at Neets blog...I like the idea of the hat and glasses; you may have been incognito, but a lot of people would have noticed you!

Hi Heather, I too am a sucker for Sweet Poppy stuff, lol. Isn't Lucy such a lovely person. And our Neet, really smashing. Look forward to meeting you at the crop! Have a fab day at the Lavinia Stamps workshop- another of my favourite stamp companies. And while you're shopping,( yes, I know you will, I would too) have a look at the Versafine Clair Nocturne inkpad for the most amazing black you've ever seen. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 XxX

Saw the pic of you and Neet over at her desk today - how lovely to see you minus the disguise!! I hope you had a good time at the show and think you're very wise taking cash like that. I used to do that as well if I went to Ally Pally stitch show. Too tempting otherwise. Hope you have a lovely time at your desk this week :-D

Hi Heather, lovely goodies - those stencils are gorgeous. Shame about the breakage but you've made a sterling job of repairing it temporarily. There's a lovely photo of you and Neet over on her blog today. I'm off to a show at the SECC Glasgow this weekend and I will be budgeting too - too tempting otherwise. Have a great week. Hi Heather. It was lovely to see you over on Neet’s blog but I have to admit I didn’t recognise you without the hat and glasses. Neet is a lovely lady isn’t she? I hope to come to the crop too so hope to meet you too.
Hugs,

Hi Heather, sounds like you had a good time at the show. We don't get to go to these very often so don't feel guilty if you came home with more than you planned. Enjoy your new goodies. Have a great woyww and a lovely creative week, Angela xXx

Very wise to take only what you can afford to spend! I've seen gals with huge bags full of stuff and wondered. Anyway, hope you can fix the handle easily! Thanks for popping by and hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Heather! Your project looks really cool! Good save on the handle, even if just temporary! Great idea to leave your bank cards behind when visiting a craft show - this way you can stick to a strict budget. But then what do you do if you see something you really-really want LOL? I wasn't sure if that was you Heather on Neet's blog - you're right the sunglasses and hat didn't help with the identification, but then I thought it must be you as there are no other Heathers on WOYWW! Thanks so much for visiting my blog - your comment has mysteriously disappeared along with some others, but I have seen it! It must be another one of those dreaded Google glitches and hopefully they will reappear soon. Have a lovely weekend! xx

First, sorry for the late reply, it's the first time in awhile I've had the time! Good for you for knowing your limits! Sometimes crafting just like an addiction - I know what it feels like to have stamps and supplies calling out to me! And I have no doubt that you NEEDED each and every one of them! Glad you had fun, and hope you can get your contraption fixed and assembled! Until Wednesday, Lindart #31

Hi Heather, lol at your comment about your debit card!! Mine has a knot tied in it after our recent craft show, I can tell you! And everything, absolutely everything was essential - couldn't live without any of it lol lol!! However much you spend, it's still cheaper than crack cocaine. I am so envious, you meeting Neet, and going to the crop too. Down here in sunny (well, recently very snowy) Devon I am a bit cut off from all the activity. I love your holder so far, and can't wait to see how it works. What a shame about the handle, but I am sure you will fix it. Thank you for your lovely comment, and yes, it's amazing how some Infusions and another layer or two can transform something. You won't have to wait long for the wraps to be off the mystery project because I now have a deadline - next Monday! I'm just hoping I can finish it in time. Still lots to do. Sorry to be so long replying but I've been working flat out on the mystery project and I'm getting behind with other things!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Oh Shoot, less than an hour to go to next week's WOYWW and just realised I hadn't replied to last week's comments yet!!! I was busy getting back into the world after being laid up with a bad back. Now I'm knee deep in egg cutouts yep on my desk awaiting midnight and desk photo! I'll really try harder this week! BJ#2
