WOYWW 439

The year is flying by!  Another week gone and time to show off my desk to the world... ok maybe not the world, but to Julia and all the other lovely ladies at WOYWW.

My crafting week has involved a leisurely trip to my local craft shop to spend some birthday money.  Amongst other things I bought a brayer ... not sure if I need one, but what the heck, live dangerously.

My desk is a tad messier than usual. On the left I had a go at creating the northern lights to make a card for my daughter who is off to Iceland in a couple of weeks.  Maybe I'll wait and see what the second attempt turns out like.  I also made a few Christmas cards.  Had to leave them on my desk to dry.  Not sure I like them but they may grow on me.  I used the die cutters I bought from China - worked a treat!

I managed another few pages of my wedding album too, so that should be complete by the time we next meet.

Have a lovely week, and please say hello and leave a comment so j know you stopped by! Heather x

What gorgeous cards! I love the Northern lights effect, think it works really well and the Let it Snow card is the one I'd have bought in the shops!

Pretty card! Brayers are very useful items, I have 2, and need another one. . .one of the things I use it the most for is just brayering down things I've glued to make sure they are well stuck, but be sure to put a piece of scrap between your work and the brayer! I'm sure you will discover lots more uses as well! Thanks for sharing, have a great week! Lindart #36

Your northern lights picture is stunning, Heather - a beautiful winter scene, and I love both snowflake cards too. I do love a winter theme with its crisp blue-whiteness. Shame we get so few truly crisp winter days in the UK these days - really bracing and beautiful! Thank you for your lovely comment. So sorry to hear about your SCA - amazing you survived!! I'm glad you're able to be back at work but try to pace yourself! (Fine advice from someone who should be taking it herself but isn't!) Having another rough day today so just resting, and hoping my hospital appointment comes through soon!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Super snowflake cards, love the ones with the wavy lines especially. Dies from China, not got into that yet, I'd be lethal if I did..... I bought a brayer for inking backgrounds but don't do that anymore, BUT I do use it to make sure my diecuts are attached properly, very useful for that. Thanks for the visit BJ#1

I'm late, sorry! Such lovely cards - please be very sure about them! Did you use the Breyer for the Northern Lights? You got the hang real fast! All that work and your desk seems pretty tidy to me, top marks all round then!

Brayers are great to use for many things and on large stamps I use them to press down evenly. Most of all use them with my gelli plates. Beautiful cards.
Monica #2 and very late in the week.

Hi Heather, all your cards are lovely. We are all own worst critics, are we not. I think you have captured how amazing the Icelandic sky can look during the Northern Lights. I'm sure you'll find the brayer very useful - it can be used in a number of ways. Elizabeth x #37
