WOYWW 588

Oh dear!  By my maths reckoning I have been AWOL for 9 weeks.  It would be rather a long post to update you on what has kept me from blogging, and what has been on my desk for the last 9 weeks, so I'll run through a quick synopsis with the odd photo ...

Work - busy as ever, and I'm still working from home part-time, but now back in the office 2 days per week.  So, I'm sharing my craft room with my office set up, and they are encroaching on one another!

Side desk shows a jigsaw I am working on, basket of card blanks, a cute Robin die cut, and heart die cut, a canvas because I wanted to do some wall art for my craftcroom, some slate love hearts destined for my potting shed, in the shadows above is a wooden sign that Mr M is going to 'do something with', and some scattered paperwork.

Potting shed is finished, and in use.  Garden fencing has been delivered.  Waterfall is half built.  I had two volunteers to help paint the shed.  There was an awful lot of paint on their overalls when they had finished, so I've used the 'before' photo.

Fingers crossed the wedding is going ahead!  I got carried away with the wedding invites!  Nic found it quite difficult to choose ...

Sorry to have been AWOL for so long.  I've had a lot of problems with my back, so have an appointment with an orthopaedic spine consultant on Friday, who I hope can sort me out!

I've also been enjoying the garden, whilst the weather has been lovely.  Spending all day in my 'office' puts me off crafting in the evenings!  On the plus side, the garden is coming along nicely.

If you would like to join in this blog hop, please click this link WOYWW to visit our Head desker, Julia.

Have a lovely week, and please leave a comment if you stop by, I love to read them. Heather x

Lots of lovely plant shopping too, my favourite sort apart from fabric of course! Hope you get that blooming back sorted out missus, it's no fun at all.....

Welcome back, Heather! I'm sorry to hear about your back, and hope they can do something for you. You have certainly been busy and the garden is coming along a treat, isn't it. We've got a waterfall outside the kitchen window but it's rather overgrown at the moment so hopefully my hubby will be able to climb up and deal with that! It's a favourite spot for the kitties to lurk.

Happy WOYWW,

You have no idea how many times I have almost emailed you but then thought better of it in case you were busy with the wedding plans. Was not too far wrong with the invites you planned - which did they choose? Or should we not know until after the event?
I do like the new potting shed - and the little helpers look just the part for assisting.
Let me know how you go on with your back consultation - and do you recommend him?
Good to have you back
Hugs, Neet xx

Thank you for a lovely comment, Helen, and for your commiserations about my ring. I know what you mean about not wanting to wear your mother's ring in case you lose it - it's a difficult balance because you do want to enjoy these things and they should be worn, but it's sooo devastating to lose them! That ring that I lost was part of my family history and I am angry with myself for being so careless as to lose it.

I'm so glad you enjoyed my post this week. Funny that you also use the Douwe Egbert coffee jars! They are brilliant, aren't they - I love all the different sizes, and the fact that they have such a good seal on the lid. The glass lids make them very attractive. I found the label design ages ago on a free vintage image site (can't remember the name offhand) and made templates of 3 different sizes in my desktop publishing software. All I need to do is insert the correct name, print them, and then fussy cut them out. I stick them on with gel medium and add a layer of this over the top to protect them. As I only have an inkjet printer, I spray the whole sheet with inkjet fixative before cutting them out, so the ink doesn't run. I also made some little cardboard gauges that I stand up against the jar, and line the bottom of the label up with the top of this, so that they all end up the same height on the jars, which is a small detail, but I think it makes the whole thing look better.

I'd love to see some pictures of your pantry!! I love mine so much. It replaced an old cupboard which I'd asked the kitchen fitter to leave, because it was an original feature of the house, but it was so impractical to use, and there was a dead space in front of it. When we discovered dry rot under the floor, the whole thing had to come out, and I had my beautiful pantry built instead, which occupies twice the depth (occupying the dead space) - it's walk-in, but no room to turn round as it's pretty tiny! I can find everything really easily and it adds to the pleasure I already have with my cooking.

I hope you will continue to post photos of the progress of the waterfall! It's lovely seeing these things develop. Have fun with it!

Heather that canvas is so pretty. I think it would quite nice in my craft room!!! And I love the design of your potting shed. I want that too! I love all of the natural light you get inside. You must share your waterfall when it is complete. Don't let work consume you too much, because your craft supplies will get lonely!! Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.
