WOYWW 566

Good morning all.  Well if the days used to pass quickly before lockdown, they are absolutely racing by now!  Another Wednesday is here and time for a blog hop around the world courtesy of Julia and WOYWW.

I'm still getting used to one desk being full of work stuff, leaving me only one desk to craft on, but it hasn't stopped me.  Inspired by all your lovely comments, and the general giggling at my painting misdemeanors, I dug out a pad of watercolour card, some watercolour sticks, and some paintbrushes from my grandchildren's art box.  I watched another you tube video, and figured even I couldn't go wrong with this one.  And voila, some more card toppers.  Still on display on my desk, to make into cards.  To the left of the cards is a necklace I made.  As I was searching for the watercolour card, I found my jewellery making stuff, and was slightly distracted!

The left hand top card went slightly wrong when I smudged the doodling, but I love the left hand bottom one- that was the you tube video I watched.  I then used Brusho to colour some card pale yellow, and did another 4.  I prefer the white card now that I'm looking at them - but you don't know until you experiment, right ladies?

Have a lovely Easter weekend.  My plan is to stay in the garden, either doing a bit of gardening, or relaxing and watching Mr M doing a bit of gardening!  If I'm feeling particularly energetic I might spruce up the summerhouse, since we are likely to be on lockdown for a while.  Stay safe, Heather xx

Brilliant pictures Heather. Have you been watching Barbara Gray's doodling sessions? She has been doing one each week day and they are available on YouTube (SHAC shack). They are very relaxing. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

Well, those are great fun and it doesn't matter if they're a bit bobbly, in fact it makes them better! They are great for cards. Hope you have a lovely time 'supervising' the garden maintenance. 😂

Hi Heather, great job! The watercolour pieces look fab! Laughing at you finding the jewellery making stuff and getting distracted! Happens to me all the time. I reckon there's going to be a lot of DIY done, and some fabulous gardens this year by the time this is all over! Have a great week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

The painting is coming on a treat and the birds are absolutely adorable. Funnily enough they are similar to some I had drawn and coloured a while ago but mine have not been seen as yet. In fact I have not a clue where they have gone - they are in hiding somewhere with the mushrooms and flowers that they fly about on. I think your colouring in is much better than mine I must say.
Love the purple flowers at the bottom especially but I still think the birds have stolen my heart.
Enjoy your Easter in the garden, will Mr M be hiding some eggs for you to find? I think if he can get out and about he should be buying some little ones for you and hiding them leading up to the summer house which sounds absolutely delightful. Wish I had one!
Have a lovely week,
and Stay safe and well,
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Ooh Heather, I love your card toppers! I love the bright colours and the quirkiness of them. It reminds me that I haven't done any watercolour doodling for a long time and I should do some more! I agree that the time is simply racing by at the moment.

Thank you for your visit - so glad you like my mandalas. Yes, colouring is extremely therapeutic and relaxing, isn't it. I've done some free downloads of colouring pages but never owned an adult colouring book. I used to adore colouring books as a child, though! I am making good progress with the little mandalas and have now coloured most of them - what you saw was just the background inking. I shall show them next week.

I'm glad you liked my garden photos, too. I'm trying to show people more outdoor shots while the lockdown is on, so that people can have a taste of a different outdoors than is immediately accessible to them! I hope you manage to get your vegetable garden up and running again. I am sure you could order some seeds online if you can't get to a garden centre.

I've heard from the hospital that all clinics have been cancelled for the duration, and I have to phone again in mid-June to set up a new appointment. Fortunately it's not an urgent problem. As for the more major issue (my parastomal hernia repair/tummy tuck), I have absolutely no idea now when that will take place. He had a 9 month waiting list for non-urgent surgery as it was, so I expect it will run into years rather than months now!

Keep safe and well, and happy belated WOYWW,

Well Mrs, I hope the watching of the garden has started, the weather has been fab and even I have had to forsake the indoors, I don’t like gardening, but I love a tidy garden! Sprucing up the summer house sounds like a project....but then, we may well have time, as you say. I love the long legged birds, they are fun, great way to make some toppers...loads before you even notice! I like the brusho background - it makes the white background look very bright white! I particularly love the necklace, that’s very clever. And I totally get the ‘distracted by shiny things‘ way in which yoU found yourself making it!

Hi Heather, lovely to hear that you're making the most of the lock-down. Those birdies are super cute and in such cheerful colours! Part of me wants the lock-down to go on longer, but it would be nice to go shopping without being afraid of catching the virus. I wonder if we'll ever go back to how it used to be or are we going to be fearful of social contact from now on? I mean I don't like crowds at the best of times but now I really want to stay away from other people. Happy Easter - make the most of this beautiful sunshine and thanks for visiting - sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner! xx zsuzsa #16
