WOYWW 467

Good morning and Happy WOYWW to Julia and the rest of the WOYWWers!  I had to prepare this post on Tuesday night, as I have a very early hospital appointment in Manchester and would not have time otherwise.  My visits will be when I return from hospital!

Oh my, I can't get over it .... I've actually made some ATCs.  I had made a singular one a few months ago, and kept it out of sentimental value that it might be my one and only, but .... over the weekend, I just started tinkering, or should that be crafting and inspiration struck!  I settled at my desk, and blow me down with a feather, 9 ATCs were slowly born.  Obviously I cannot show them just yet, but ... I now have a little stash to take part in the swap! No need for panic, the crisis has been diverted!  They may not be the best, or the most colourful, and they may be a wee bit basic, I'm not even sure if there is a set thickness of card to be used! but ... they are my babies!  The unlucky recipients who have the misfortune to receive one, and will have to duly oooh and aaaah over them (To avoid hurting my feelings lol) are (in no particular order):

Julia
Angela
Shaz
LLJ
Annie (Wipso)
Jo (Twiglet)
And my PIF of course!
Neet - I'm not sure if you still wanted to swap, as I wasn't ready in time for Happy Stampers?

On to the reason we are all here, my desk.  Side desk has the finished ATCs on it, cunningly covered with blue roll!  There are also some pages out of magazines that I want to keep.  I had dozens of magazines and could not face looking through them all for that one card I know I had seen that I wanted to make, or a tip sheet on a technique I wanted to try.  So I am taking out the pages that interest me and binning the rest of the mag!

My main desk has the spoils from a Create and Craft order - some BoBunny glittery stuff, some jewelled card and a pack of glues/tapes, and my purchases from Happy Stampers.  It was great to see the wonderful Neet again, and also meet Sarah for the first time.  Both are lovely ladies, and I can't wait to meet the rest of you at the crop in September.

I was undecided about the big stamp from Inkylicious but took the plunge.  Lavinia Stamps lured me in as I passed by, and Sarah showed me some embossing powders she had bought that were a real bargain, so ... I had to, didn't I?  But I was well behaved.  I only took cash, and whatever I bought had to fit in the little carrier bag I took with me which was slightly bigger than an A4 sheet of paper!  How's that for willpower, self control, call it what you will.

I'm slightly annoyed that an order I placed online in March has still not been delivered despite repeat assurances that it has been posted.  I've ordered half a dozen oxide inks, as I really do like the effects - just frustrating now as its 2 months! Patience is not one of my virtues!  One more week and I will request a refund I think!

Have a lovely week, I hope the sun keeps shining!  Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment, or a hi, so I can return the visit! Take care, Heather xx

Hi Heather, it was great to meet you too. Glad you got the stamp, I would have been tempted but was spent up by then. Those embossing powders were a bargain weren't they? Have a good week, hope your appointment goes well. Sarah #9

Morning Heather, what a lovely sight to see, Lavina stamps, frantage and a spot of inkylicious together.. isn't it amazing how much stash we can fit into a small bag (Oh the art of stash packing!) hee hee.
Annoying about the order, I really detest when they take our money and months later we are still waiting, i'm currently waiting for a book that I pre-ordered months ago that has now been released but is out of stock again. I'm wondering of the Author is hand writing it herself.
Well done on your ATC's, the blue roll brought back many playgroup memories.
Creative hugs for the week ahead & best wishes at your hospital visit.

Yes, I will still swap if that is alright - and I did find the atc's when I got home - in my bag! Not that I mentioned them to you as i thought if you had one with you you would have said at the time.
I would request a refund now!! So sorry about that! How annoying! I'd be hopping mad.
When you said you had got a big stamp I half expected it to be the Inkyklicious one you have got, she was doing a great job dem'ing that - but then all her dems are good. Enjoy!
Hugs, Neet 7 xx

Morning Heather. You certainly had a great fun day out at the stamp show. Well done you. I'm sure your ATCs are just great. Mine are always fairly basic. I don't seem to be able to do fancy or complicated!!!
Take care. God bless.

Heather you crack me up! So funny! I'm sure your ATCs are wonderful - there's no right or wrong way of doing them! Last year I completely misunderstood the brief but nobody complained LOL! If you have any leftovers, count me in, but don't worry otherwise. I might be your PIF! Good luck with your hospital appointment - hope it all goes smoothly and you can enjoy the rest of the week. zsuzsa #25

I'm so glad you enjoyed meeting up with the lovely WOYWWers, it'll be lovely to see you at the Crop in Llandudno! Because we already 'know' each other online, there's no awkward silences, you know each other's back story so it's chat from the word Go! And your ATCs will be fine, mine are a bit weird this year too!

My apologies for the late visit. A huge storm knocked out my electricity and internet about the time I began visiting. I finally gave up waiting for it to come back on and went to bed.

Now you know why I refuse to order anything online. The idea of having to wait so long and the promise that "the check is in the mail" would be enough for me to cancel the order and quit using that company. I hope it is sorted soon.

I haven't even started my ATCs, yet, just printed and stamped the backs. Yours are surely lovely. Happy WOYWW from #3.

I grinned and grinned Heather reading about your adventures in ATC making. ( I used to swap with a set of gals more than a dozen years ago and the stress of that every month was just mind blowing for me) I don't do swaps at all anymore the whole create the same over and over makes me crabby. I am sure everyone has a little bit of that thing in them too so, I bet there will be more ooOhing and Aaawing than you know. ~Stacy #29

I’m late! I wouldn’t wait another week before cancelling your order Heather, Oxides are readily available in many online stores now, an8 week back order is really bad luck. I like the inkylicious stamp, and will very much look forward to seeing ideas for it’s use....please show and tell as you tinker! And congratulations of the ATCs, bet they’re great. Mine are extremely straight forward and lacking in the novelty that so many people manage, but hey, I enjoyed them and I think that’s the real spirit in making swap items. I did the same with my magazines some time ago, and have to admit to not looking at the torn out pages since! I also found that unless I marked a particular article, I couldn’t remember why I’d kept the mag in the first place!!
