WOYWW 562

Good morning everyone.  I'm not in work today.  Just got back from hospital after having a wisdom tooth extracted, so thought I would distract myself with the best blog hop in town - WOYWW.  Head on over if you are curious!

Please don't faint ... but I have been crafting!  Side desk shows a lovely envelope/invitation die set I just bought for my daughter's wedding invitations.  I also bought a couple of back editions of Simply Lettering and a Tombow lettering beginner's  kit - although it says advanced, it looks like a beginner's essential kit to me.  Let the calligraphy fun begin!

Main desk has the first sample invitations - just having a little play with the dies really.  The wording on the Order of Service made my daughter laugh when I showed them to her.  She's quite taken with the design on the right.  Sneaking in on the picture at the far right is a pack of glossy photo paper for a laser printer ... any guesses what my Christmas present was...

And final shot is my Christmas  present- a new colour laser printer, so I can print all the backgrounds I want, and the photos for the multitude of scrapbooks I have on the go!  Next to that is my box of A4 papers that won't fit in the cabinet below, and next to that are all my 6x6 paper pads.   At the top of the photo are some IKEA tubs, hooks and shelf- more storage!  I have come to the conclusion that crafting supplies expand to fit twice the space available.

Hope you are all safe and well.  Please leave a comment if you stop by, I love to read them.  Have a lovely week, Heather xx

How lovely to have new 'toys' to play with. Really hoping your mouth isn't too painful and everything heals well for you.

Oh poor you, Heather... I had an awful time having my wisdom tooth extracted last year. I am sure they have warned you not to fiddle with the place with your tongue, to avoid getting something called dry socket, when the blood clot gets dislodged and the wound fails to heal. It does heal up pretty quickly if you treat it right, though, and continue with the saline mouth washes for a few days. I've got a nice smooth place now where the tooth was. I hope you recover quickly - it's a miserable business!

Nice busy desk, and I'm glad your daughter approves of your lovely efforts! Great new printer, too. I recently got a new inkjet printer but I'd love a laser one really - are colour laser printers very expensive to run?

Thank you for your visit and I look forward to seeing your stamp storage. I've been trying to do something similar but so far it's not working as well as I'd hoped. That's a good idea, to share an online calendar, but my hubby's not that computer savvy and he'd never keep it up! He does have a desk diary as well as his pocket one this year but I am not sure how good he is at keeping them synced. When he was working he used to give me a weekly schedule which really helped but that seems to have gone by the board since he retired, and he seems to be just as busy these days as when he was working!

Happy WOYWW,

Well done you, some gorgeous crafting today. You asked about the exploding box.It didn't explode I just don't know where it ended up when we had the roof altered and the new window put in but then there are lots of things that I haven't found yet Lol! Happy creative woyww, Angela x2x

The invitations are gorgeous - both sets are beautiful and very different from each other - what a difficult decision you daughter will have! Lucky you getting a colour laser printer - I have wanted one for a long time but just wouldn't be able to find the space to house one. I hope you have lots of fun playing with it!
Have a great week,

WOW! Busy looking desks. I helped my daughter create her wedding invited and we had a blast...not much cheaper but was lots of fun. I had my wisdom teeth out at about 30 and luckily I only had top 2 cause it wasn't much fun! Have a great week. Vickie #26

Wow a good printer is a great idea especially if you are using it to print backgrounds. How lovely that you have been entrusted with the "order of service" Stay safe and keep crafting.

A violent shade of green surrounds me at the moment - since seeing your Christmas Present. What a wonderful gift, something I only ever dream about. You must have been over the moon!
Oh I am so happy to see you here again, I like to know my friends are ok and WOYWW is one way of keeping a check on them. Do hope that you are ok after that wisdom extraction, well, not wisdom but wisdom tooth I mean.
Looks as if some exciting crafting is around with those lovely invites and things, how lovely to have them all coordinated like that.
Take care,
Hugs, Neet 6 xx

Oh wow, a laser printer... you lucky girl! My atelier is getting full and I still take 'things' back home to drag it in my 'cave'... it's time I start using all that stuff! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, I hope you are doing well, stay save dear, big (virtual, we are not allowed to shake hands anymore in the Netherlands) hug! Marit #7

Hi Heather

The sample invitations look great - I'd probably opt for the one on the right if I had to choose, but it would be a close run race!
I'm very envious of your Christmas present. Our ancient inkjet printer just keeps limping erratically on, but when it finally gives up the ghost I'll definitely be hoping to upgrade to a laser printer. So handy to be able to print your own photos!
Have a lovely week.

Nice Christmas present! You will have fun with that, I'm sure! I agree with your DD, I like the invitation on the right best as well, although they are both lovely! My DD is sending out e-invites, so i don't get to make her invitations. Although, at the moment, who knows what the world will be like by August 1st. Hopefully back to normal! Have a great week, and thanks for your visit, Lindart #20

Ouchie, dentist visits are so not fun! Hope it's all healed by now. I've got two of mine removed - one was impacted! Super invitations and I'm sure the laser printer will pay for itself in the long run. Thanks for your visit earlier, Heather! Enjoy the rest of the weekend! xx zsuzsa #14

Hey Heather! It's Belinda, and I am dreadfully late making rounds. Thanks for your visit last week. I want to jump through the screen and come play with all the goodies on your desk. I love the invitation you created. That's gorgeous. Feel free to share any tips with my about calligraphy. I have bought stuff over the years to learn how to do hand-lettering but I don't stick with it long enough to learn. I really would love to learn how to do some hand-lettering. It would be great for my cards and scrapbooks. I will have to pull out my stuff and think of a way to incorporate it into my other crafting time so I can learn. Even if at a snail's pace!!

It's been a crazy few days. My boy's school is closed until April 7th and today we went to his school so they could pick up any books they left at school. His school is going to attempt an online classroom. I hope they figure something out so the kids don't lose valuable school time.

Stay healthy and keep creating my friend!
