I'm pretty sure the weeks pass by quicker when I am blogging! It really can't be 7 days since my last desk tour, courtesy of Julia and WOYWW
No desk, as I haven't really been in my craft room (again), apart from to collect the candle making kit ... and voila! We have 3 candles ... so I'm showing a kitchen worktop shot, as that is the sum efforts of my crafting for the week - but I have done a lot of research on candle making.
I have 3 more to make before I invest in some more wax - just haven't decided which is the best wax, or wicks, or containers. The essential oils at the back were part of my Christmas present from one of my daughters- either to add to candles, or make diffuser potions. The candle kit came with some fragrance oils, the one I used is Pomegranate & Hibiscus, which really is lovely.
I'll be round Wed/Thur evenings to visit, depending on free time. Have a lovely week, Heather xx

You just snuck in as I was about to close down for the night. Good to see you back again and this time with some candles. I can well understand the research taking a great deal of time, I spend hours reading up on things before I venture to start.
Looking good Heather - we will have you mixing all kinds of potions before long and adding things no doubt. I bet there are things you can find in the woodland to use when you really get into it. See, you could open up an entirely new world of crafting for yourself. And don't forget about the decorating of them - bet you have lots to do just that with.
Hugs and glad to see you again

This looks like a great fun project. Have a great week and a happy woyww, Angela x15x
Now that looks like fun...I bet you got some odd results on Google if you were researching wicks 😳 You're going to be like a mad scientist in a lab soon, lol!

A fun and different project on your desk/worktop today Heather. I get my stamp DVD cases from Maria Moorhouse when I go to her classes. At 60p each they are a bargain. She does a monthly class in Preston, Hadnall (Shrewsbury) and on the Wirral. I ask her in advance to bring some to class and buy off her in bulk. She has a class the same day as the crop in Shrewsbury so if you are coming I could try and arrange for her to bring some along and sort it out on the day. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2
Hi Heather, looks like you did a fab job with the candles. Hubby bought me a candle making set a lot of years ago for one Christmas, I haven't done any for years. I was trying to recall where I bought more supplies, but just Googling there are way more places than there were all those years ago!Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X
I think that might be a first on WOYWW, Heather - candle making! Not something I've ever attempted, but my dad used to make the candles for his church. He would collect up all the candle stubs and melt them - he cast them in white plastic pipes and he set up a little candle workshop in the garage. They were brilliant, and saved the church quite a bit of money, I think. Thank you for your visit - I'm afraid I haven't been very good at practising my brush calligraphy and must do some more. There are lots of great Youtube videos on it - look for the Forever After Crafter in particular, she's very good, and has different people on her channel doing tutorials too. I have been doing some colouring with my newly gessoed sheets and so far am very pleased with the results with the Tombows. I haven't yet had a chance to start sorting my stamps. I shan't know whether this method will work for me until I do it and live with it for a while. It's got to be better than the present system, anyway.
Happy belated WOYWW,
